Development Update [2025/03]

Back to news

This month has been packed with new developments! In this update, we’ll cover the details of the Inheriti® 2.2 update, bringing enhanced security features and improvements to our digital inheritance platform. We’ll also take you inside SuperNova 2025, the premier tech and innovation event where we connected with industry leaders and explored new collaborations. Additionally, we’re happy to share our latest video release on how Inheriti® secures your digital assets and our recent feature on CryptoInsiders.nl, highlighting the importance of protecting your digital legacy. Let’s dive in!

Inheriti® 2.2 Update

With this update, Inheriti® takes a significant step forward in expanding accessibility and flexibility for digital inheritance and data backup management. The introduction of Free Plans allows new users to explore the platform, secure their data, and experience Inheriti® without upfront costs. At the same time, Multiple Merge Authorities enhance plan activation by enabling multiple beneficiaries to initiate the merging process, improving reliability and accessibility.

This release also includes various system improvements, security updates, and refinements to enhance overall usability and performance.

Free Protection Plans

For many users, getting started with digital inheritance and secure data storage can feel overwhelming. With Free Plans, anyone can now secure their digital data with an Inheriti® Backup Plan  without financial commitment, making it easier to onboard and familiarize themselves with the platform.

What free plans offer:

  • A simple, no-cost way to create a backup plan and experience Inheriti® first-hand.
  • Single shareholder setup, ideal for personal use.
  • SafeKey Mobile storage support for convenience and security.
  • Encrypt and protect passwords, private keys, PIN codes and more.

While Free Plans provide a strong foundation for digital security, they differ from Paid Plans in one key fundamental way: the multilayer topology.

Unlike Paid Plans, where the validator share is stored on a blockchain of the user’s choice, Free Plans store the validator share in the Inheriti® Vault instead. This maintains security while eliminating blockchain dependencies, enabling more users to engage with Inheriti® without added complexity.

By introducing Free Plans, we aim to increase adoption, make onboarding easier, and ensure more people can experience the Inheriti® platform risk-free.

Multiple Merge Authorities (MA)

Previously, the merging process—the crucial step in opening a protection plan and retrieving secret data—was tied to a single Merge Authority (MA). While this structure functioned well, it also created a potential bottleneck: if the designated MA was unavailable, data retrieval could be delayed or even halted.

With this update, users can now assign multiple Merge Authorities, significantly increasing the flexibility, security, and accessibility of protection plans.

Why multiple merge authorities matter:

  • Increased Redundancy – If one MA is unavailable, another can step in, ensuring that recovery is never dependent on a single individual.
  • Enhanced Security – Spreading responsibility across multiple trusted individuals prevents bottlenecks in the recovery process.
  • Better Organizational Support – This change sets the foundation for future organization-focused protection plans, allowing teams and businesses to securely manage their digital assets together.

This feature is particularly useful for:

  • Families managing inheritance plans for multiple beneficiaries.
  • Businesses ensuring that critical company data remains accessible, even if key personnel are unavailable.
  • Decentralized teams that require shared access to encrypted data.

By enabling Multiple Merge Authorities, Inheriti® strengthens its position as a secure, flexible, and scalable solution for both individual and organizational digital asset protection.

Data Asset Categories

We introduced a structured categorization system for data assets, making it easier to store and manage sensitive information. This change lays the foundation for future expansion, as we plan to support even more asset types over time.

To improve clarity and usability, all data assets are now grouped into five main categories:

  1. General Data – Store plain text for notes or sensitive details.
  2. Online Accounts – Secure login credentials, PINs, and recovery codes.
  3. Developer Keys & Secrets – Protect API keys and developer credentials.
  4. Crypto Wallets – Manage private keys and seed phrases securely.
  5. Payment Cards – Store credit and debit card information safely.

General Enhancements

Behind the scenes, Inheriti® continues to evolve its security and infrastructure to ensure long-term reliability, efficiency, and resilience. In this update, we have introduced several backend improvements that enhance performance, data structuring, and processing power across all protection plans.

  • User experience refinements – We have made adjustments to navigation, interface responsiveness, and interactions, ensuring that managing protection plans is more intuitive.
  • System performance updates – Various backend optimizations have been applied to improve platform speed, stability, and scalability, ensuring better reliability even under high usage.
  • Security reinforcements – We continue to refine internal security mechanisms, ensuring that Inheriti® remains protected against potential vulnerabilities while maintaining user privacy and control.
  • Infrastructure enhancements – Several system-wide optimizations have been implemented to improve server stability, request handling, and API efficiency, reducing latency and increasing overall performance.

Looking Ahead

With Free Plans and Multiple Merge Authorities, Inheriti® is now more accessible, flexible, and robust than ever. These updates make it easier for new users to get started, while also strengthening security for experienced users and organizations.

Future updates, which we are already working on, will continue to refine and expand on these features, ensuring that digital inheritance and backup plans evolve with the needs of users worldwide.

The Hidden Risk of Offline Crypto Storage: How Inheriti® Prevents Tragic Losses

A 70-year-old woman from Los Angeles lost her home and entire cryptocurrency savings in the recent devastating California wildfires. Her private key, written on paper and kept in her house, was destroyed in the fire, making her Bitcoin holdings inaccessible. This tragic incident highlights the risks of storing private keys offline, as physical disasters like fires, floods, and hurricanes can wipe out access to digital assets permanently.

This is why Inheriti® is so important. Unlike traditional storage methods, Inheriti® securely encrypts and distributes private keys in a decentralized way, ensuring they are never lost due to unforeseen disasters. By using an automated inheritance system, users can protect their assets and guarantee that their loved ones will have access when needed—without relying on vulnerable paper notes, USB sticks, or metal plates. With Inheriti®, digital wealth remains secure no matter what happens.

Inheriti® Demos

Our live Inheriti® demos are in full swing, giving our community a hands-on experience of how we’re making digital inheritance secure and seamless. These interactive sessions showcase Inheriti’s decentralized approach to protecting and transferring digital assets while ensuring full privacy and control.

Your support drives us to keep improving secure, decentralized technology. We’re planning even more demos to highlight the latest advancements in digital legacy planning—stay tuned!
